Allergan: Anti-wrinkle Product Botox is Good for Chronic Migraine

On Thursday, Allergan said that the clinical data shows that the company's best-selling facial anti-wrinkles products Botox (A-botulinum toxin) can be used for the treatment of adults with chronic migraine.

Allergan was under the pressure because the stock-market worried that the clinical trial would be failed. But after the news release, the stock rose 11 percent on Thursday.

The company said there is no drug had effect on the treatment of chronic migraine befor Botox. There are about 1.2 million -360 million patients only in United States.

Allergan said that the third stage of clinical trials showed that compared to the patients taking placebo, the patients receiving Botox treatment are significantly reduced the number of headache days.

The company said that people could inject Botox in the forehead, temple, and even different location of the neck muscles.
