Most U.S. Hospitals for Colon Cancer Patients' Recurrence Check is not Standard

A report published in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute investigated United States 1296 hospital found that only 38 percent of the hospitals check at least three-quarters of its patients' 12 Lymph nodes. These patients all accept lymphoma surgery between 2004 and 2005.

The report noted that from 1996 to 1997, in conformity with the standards of the hospital are less 15% than now. But this is still far from enough.

Dr. Karl Bilimoria is in charge of this study. He is disappointed that the ratio is so low.

The day before the report published, another report about the United States of colon cancer have raised questions about the health care situation. Dr. Gregory Cooper from University Hospitals Case Medical Center found that 60% of elderly patients with colon cancer didn't get enough recurrence check.
